Survivor Rules (READ BEFORE APPLYING)
« on: July 22, 2014, 05:56:03 pm »
Basically, the main rules of my ORGs. Please read before signing up for this forum.

Basic Structure
The game starts with a predetermined number of people (say 16) split into equal teams, or tribes. These tribes participate in challenges, such as flash games. For the winning tribe, nothing much happens. The losing tribe, however, must go to a tribal council. Here, the host will ask them questions about their opinions on their tribe and why they lost the challenge and such. Each tribemate must then vote for someone to be eliminated by PMing the host their vote. Whoever has the most elimination votes is, well, eliminated. They will no longer participate in challenges, and should their tribe lose again, they cannot vote. After a number of challenges and eliminated contestants, the tribes will then merge into one. The next challenge, instead of being team based, will be individual. Whoever wins this individual challenge will win immunity. Then, all people go to a tribal council. It proceeds as normal, but when it is time to vote, the winner of the immunity challenge cannot receive votes. At some point, usually after the merge, the eliminated person goes to what is called a jury. Everyone who is eliminated after that goes onto the jury until the final 2 or 3. Then, the Final 2 or 3 give speeches on why they should win. The jury asks the final 2 or 3 a question, although they do not have to ask all of the finalists. Then, the jury votes for who they would like to win the game. The winner is called the Sole Survivor.

Advanced Rules
Hidden Immunity Idols
In most seasons, there will be a hidden immunity idol. On Day 1, there will be a riddle posted. People can attempt to solve it every time a new challenge or tribal council thread with a new Day is posted. If someone solves the riddle, they get the hidden immunity idol. This hidden immunity idol can be played at tribal council. When you send in your vote, say 'I play my idol' or something similar. This idol will negate any votes for whoever plays it. If whoever plays the idol has the most votes, then the person with the second most votes is eliminated. If the person using the idol gets no votes, they do not get the idol back. The idol can be used on someone else to protect them with the same effect. At some point, usually the Final 5, the idols can no longer get played. Under certain circumstances, clues to help figure out the riddle will be provided.
Confessionals
During the game, you will obviously have some experiences, mostly good ones but some negative ones too. If you want to say something to someone, such as your opinion on someone else, your strategy to get far etc, PM the host. The 'don't be rude' rules does not apply here. If you do not send a confessional in three days, you will be asked to. You can send one confessional in three days, you can send in fifty. Just send them in! Be sure to title your PM 'Confessional'
The Self-Vote Rule
For every tribal council, there is a deadline. If someone does not vote in the deadline, their vote will be for themselves. If there are three or more self votes, the deadline will be extended. If someone self votes twice in a row or three times overall, they are disqualified.

Strategies to Win
Vote off Inactives
Pre-merge, you want to help your team out as much as possible. Voting off Inactives (people who are inactive and don't help out with challenges), or by extension, people who are just bad at challenges, helps your team become stronger. If you never lose a challenge, you can do the next strategy.
Pagong the Other Tribe
If at the merge your tribe has more members than the opposing tribe, it is usually smart to band your tribe together and eliminate the other tribe one by one. This is just smart.
Jury Management
If you are going to win, the jury must want to vote for you. If the jury hates you, they won't vote for you. If you are strategically inferior to your opponent, good luck winning. You'll need it. Some jurors might want to vote for you if you win a lot of challenges.
Alliances
If you don't do this, you're stupid. An Alliance is a group of people who votes together. For example, on a tribe of 7, an alliance of 4 and an alliance of 3 appear. 4>3, so someone from the smaller alliance goes home. Alliances are smart. Alliances stick together. They can talk over PM about who to vote off. In a large alliance, it is smart to have sub alliances, so when an alliance of 7 gets rid of all of its enemies, there is an alliance of 4 that gets rid of the remaining 3. Just offer people a spot in your alliance, or accept offers.
